Thanks to the efforts of a wonderful group of volunteers who believe in this project and agree with Neale that having a virtual Chapel will support us in our prayer and meditation, and who have worked with Neale to create it, we now have such a site. The website will be launched in this month (July 08). Neale owns this Internet portal and is making this site available to The Group of 1000 for its exclusive use for the life of this organization. He has pledged to finance all future ongoing development costs. We, in turn, have gathered a team of administrators, project managers, writers, ministers and volunteers available to support our members in their individual spiritual practice. We are very happy and grateful that we are able to offer this service to our members.

G1K will also be re-instituting the monthly Focus Calls led by Steffani LeFevour. She will lead us in a united prayer and meditation. Each month we will have a topic on which we will focus our healing energy. The next call is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, and reminder emails have been sent to members in hopes that we will have a strong group of people to pray for the healing of our world economy.

Our Gratitude

We are deeply grateful for your support—at whatever level—of the Action Plan to Change Our World. The 1% tithe is our goal. Our focusing of 1% of our time per month of dedicated, intentioned service from each G1K member is our goal. We know that with this kind of intense focusing of energy, our members are empowered to make a difference and create the world they wish to see.

If you have any questions or comments on this Action Update, please send them to me at Rita@TheGroupOf1000.com. It is our intention to serve you as a valuable member of this community of people who believe that together we can change the world.

Rita Curtis

Executive Director

<dc:subject>Announcements</dc:subject>

Home with God, Part 17

“You think that one day you are going to meet God. You image that you are one day going to get back Home. You are not going to get back Home. You never left Home.”

God is All Things. God is the Creator AND the Created. God is everything, everywhere. There is nothing that is not God. Life is All there is. That’s right; God and Life are the same thing. Death is not the Opposite of Life, it is a part of Life. Everything is a part of Life.

We would all have no problem accepting that we were created by Life and that we are part of Life and that Life flows through us and animates our being. But change the name to God and our “labelling” changes our perspective. We all have our conditioned ideas about what God is and how we should “approach” HIM.

All of Life is Creative. It works naturally without any effort. Plant a seed in the right conditions and it will grow without thinking about it or stressing over it. When the required parts of Life come together in Harmony, new Life is created and grows.

What is the smallest identifiable part of Life? Well, the smallest thing that science can observe, depends on how you look for it. You can see tiny particles of matter or you can see tiny waves of energy. What turns up is dependant on what you “planned” on looking for. The “same” thing can appear as matter or energy. It can change from one to the other. It can disappear and re-appear in a different place. It can appear in more than one place at the same time. These are all things that mystics have been telling us about how Life works for thousands of years. Now it has been observed and measured, at the smallest of scales.

We are constantly told that our thoughts create our experience. “Think and Grow Rich”; Think of what you want, not what you don’t want; Ask and it shall be given to you; In the beginning was the Word. Words are the tools of thought, even those that are not expressed verbally. Jesus “updated” the idea of the Ten Commandments by saying that even “thinking” of committing such acts was the same as actually committing them (paraphrased here). Our Thoughts are Things. They are Energy Waves and they move outwards into and throughout the substance of Life, affecting all of Life. They become the thoughts that other people receive and think in their own minds (just like radio waves are received and replayed in a radio). The stronger or more numerous the same kind of thought is, the greater affect it will have on the sub-conscious mind of Life.

Mind your thoughts, mind your words, mind your emotions.
Practice making all of these as “positive” as you can, it’s not always easy.

This discussion Part has been a while in coming. We did have comments to the previous Part 15, so I urge you to take a look – Mario tells of some of his experiences.

In the book, the next few Chapters (from 19, page 140) introduce a metaphor of an Apple-Orange to discuss the journey that we take through birth, physical life, physical death, through the Core of our Being into the Spiritual realm and back again, on a continual cycle of evolution. I think that this is such a good example, I would prefer that you take the time to get hold of the book and read it for yourselves.

We have covered most of the concepts here already, but the book is so well written, I don’t want to try to paraphrase it and I’m sure that you will gain so much from reading it.

In summary though – we visit the Spiritual Realm to remember and KNOW who we are and we come to the Physical Realm to EXPERIENCE what we know. We don’t have to die to make this happen, but dying is our sure-fired gift to get us there. However far we move away from who we really are, dying will bring us back.

In amongst the discussion in the book, we come across more Remembrances:

The Ninth Remembrance
It is the desire of All That Is to Know Itself in Its Own Experience. This is the reason for all of Life.

The Tenth Remembrance
Life is eternal.

The Eleventh Remembrance
The timing and circumstances of death are always perfect.

If you have seen the “Conversations with God” movie, you will remember the part when the distressed women, enters the bookshop where Neale is in discussion with a group of people. She asks him to explain why God allowed her son to die before she could meet her promise to him – this story is presented at page 174 and includes a beautiful poem written by the women.

This story leads us to the next remembrance …
The Twelfth Remembrance
The death of every person always serves the agenda of every other person who is aware of it. That is why they are aware of it. Therefore, no death (and no life) is ever “wasted”. No one ever dies “in vain.”

These 4 remembrances sum up how life works. Life is Eternal – that is, it exists in a “Timelessness” that never begins and never ends. This is not the same as something that goes on for a “long-time”. Eternity is not a “long-time”, it is timeless. When Life takes on a Physical form, it enters the realm of time and duality, or relativity. In this realm, we can experience our Self, in Relation to others, we can Inter-Act with other parts of Life. We Experience a part of Who We Are. Simply “Knowing” who we are is a limited-awareness that becomes solidified through experience. This creates a never ending evolutionary process driven and guided by Consciousness. This is the constant framework in which we Choose How to express and experience our own Individuation of this one thing – Life, or God.

Guided by our higher-self or our connection to the source, we come to be born at the appropriate “time and place” and “later” die again, at the appropriate time, place, and circumstance. The timing of both events is brought about by the “drive” of both the Individuation and that of the human Group Consciousness for the benefit and growth of both.

At the Group level, we all become aware of the birth and death of all human experience. However, at the individuation level, we may be aware of very few birth and death events and their impact on those people that take part. You don’t need to be directly part of an event in order to gain some experience from it. We have all been invited to a friends party and met someone that we didn’t know before. We chat and either straight away, or by strange coincidence, they begin to tell us of another friend whose mother just died of cancer, or whose sister just had a baby, or whose brother was just killed in Afghanistan. There seems to be no reason for this discussion but you exchange stories and feel the experience, even at this remote and distant level. You separate and move on with your individual lives, but now you have both changed a little. The death of the brother that you never knew has started something stirring inside you. It will change the direction of your life forever.

Each of these events ripples out to touch hundreds or thousands of lives and no one can know the impact that results. The greater the event, the more people that are effected.

I personally have a constant stream of impossible coincidences. For example, last night I had one and was wondering what the significance was. There appeared to be none, other than the “coincidence” itself, until I came to revisit my copy of “Home with God” ready to write this next story.

I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I moved here 5 years ago from Britain. I was a member of a motorcycle club and we would gather as a group and go on long rides, just for the sake of riding. Being “One” with the bike and the road and allowing the flow to take you in whatever direction it chooses, is a great feeling. Anyway, there was about a dozen of us in the original group. We met every week but didn’t really “know” each other, we would just ride and talk about bikes. Last night, I was trying to have a round of “pitch and put” golf, but when we arrived at the course, it was swarming with children and parents and trainers. These 5 and 6 year old kids were amazing. They played as if they knew exactly what was “supposed” to happen and no matter how strangely they swung their over-sized clubs, the ball would fly straight down the fairway and onto the green, something that our adult leverage and muscles couldn’t achieve with any consistency. It was a joy to see, but the 1.5 hour line-up meant that it wouldn’t be worth staying to try to play our own game.

When this kind of thing happens, I try to look for the benefit. What will appear next that meant I had to leave early. Well, nothing seemed to appear, but I was back at home early and my wife and I went out for a walk. We went in a direction and route that we would not normally take and we were enjoying being by the water front when I spotted a couple sitting on a bench looking out across the water. I thought “I know these people, but it is out of context, they shouldn’t be here”. It was like a flash-back. I stopped to say hello. We recognized each other but we still had to remind ourselves of names (we are getting quite old). They are on a group trip flying into Calgary, travelling over the Rockies, down to Vancouver and then flying back to the UK. And, here they are sitting on a bench just a few minutes walk from our condo (we haven’t had any contact for over 5 years).

The discussion soon turned to members of the old group and what they are up to. A few had died from cancer and other ailments but as is the way, some had been involved in bike accidents. One in particular had been “persuaded” by a couple of friends to take a different route home in order to ride together. During the ride, the leader overtakes a truck and the next rider pulls out to follow suite and runs into an on-coming van. By the time the ambulance arrives, the friend is pronounced died. When the ambulance man asks what the died mans name is and where he lives, the answer is typical – he’s Goaty Mike and lives in Coventry (this isn’t the actual name and place, but you get the idea. This is the Mike that has the goaty beard, not the Mike that wears the farmer-John leathers). These are friends with a common love – riding. They don’t get into each other lives and stories.

Just to show that for every coincidence that you experience with another person, that person is also in the experience. So, what was his story? Well, my friend had talked to this chap back at the club meeting just minutes earlier. He gives out the newsletters. The newsletter has the guys name and address on it and this was found in his pocket.

This experience still just seemed to be a coincidence “looking” for a “reason”, and may be that is all they are. However, I’ve seen so many and in the time I’ve been in Vancouver they have just become daily events. Anyway, when I go to sleep last night and when I wake-up this morning, I ask “my-Self” if there is anymore to the story. Am I supposed to have told my visitor friend something specific or given him something? I don’t know yet what the link is.

Now I’m thinking about what to write in this next Part of my “Home with God” review. I look back to where I was for Part 15 and note that I had skipped the story of Helen and Billy (as mentioned above) as I thought I was familiar with it – well, it is in my brain somewhere. Now I’m looking at Chapter 23 where it begins with the reminder that “the circumstances of every death is always perfect.” Neale doesn’t just accept what he is “told”, he questions that “Billy came here to experience being frustrated all of his life and then having to die in a motorcycle accident just to finally meet his mother? Come on!”

This is also where the Twelfth Remembrance is introduced.

I hadn’t remembered or thought about the method of Billy’s death, but it jumped out at me when I was helped to Re-Member it.

I haven’t bought a motorcycle while I’ve been in Vancouver, but I often think about the feeling of freedom and oneness with nature that you get from just riding and going with the flow. Why my old biker friend turned up here and how we managed to Coincide is not clear to me yet. Why this also tied up to the location in Home with God that I am writing about, I also don’t know. I wouldn’t normally write about my signs and pointers, so why I choose to write about this one here, I don’t know – Do You?

If I told you about the list of signs and pointers I have experienced while creating a board-game that I’m now testing with friends, you wouldn’t believe me. The Board is a Magick board design incorporating numbers and geometry, as well as words and symbols from some of the ancient wisdom teachings. The game is called Secret-Life “The Awareness Game” and naturally raises your conscious awareness while playing it. I hope to make it available to people, and together we will be able to explore the meanings locked inside, as we are currently doing with our “real” lives.

Chapter 17 presents a further explanation of this.

You may wish to scroll down and review Part 5 – in the Art Gallery and take a look at my definitions of Truth, Time, Life etc in Part 4.

If you have been following the Oprah webinar discussions with Eckhart Tolle you will know about being in the “Now”. The Present moment is all there is. The Left Brain (and the EGO Mind) creates the illusion of Time Passing by us. The Ego is focused on the Past and the Future and creates guilt over what happened in the “past” and worry, anxiety and fear over what “might” happen in the “future”, even though the past has gone and we never experience the future, except in our Imaginations – right Now. When we focus on the present and provide a “Space” in our Mind to experience the present (by quietening the voice in our head), we recognise that we are not our thoughts. We can observe them and direct them and still them, but only when we take conscious action. Otherwise the relentless chatter continues.

Time is something that we move through and experience, it is not something that flows over us, even if that is how it appears. As we sit quiet in a chair, we can feel that time is passing by. May be we even feel that we are “wasting” time, like there is a shortage of it. Even as we sit in the chair, we are still moving through time. Our heart is beating, breath is moving in and out, cells are being born and dying, hair and finger nails are growing. At each moment, things are changing. At each present, we experience ourselves in a different position in time. All possibilities exist all of the time, but we get to choose which version to experience. Sitting in the chair we can choose to look out of the window, to look at the television, to look at the wall. We can use our imagination to contemplate another part of time, either past or future, or another part or space by visualizing ourselves in another place. At any moment we can experience any part of time and space.

When you quiet your mind and begin to recognise that you are not your thoughts and not your body and that there is something else that is the “observer” of these things that you are using, you begin to know that you are the “space” where time exists and where you have chosen to experience who you are through the use of a physical body.

The Space that “you” are is also the Space that “I” am. It is also the Space that “God” is. This is the place where “We Are All One”. When we come to this place, we feel our Oneness with All of Life, as Life is All There Is. We are a part of Life, experiencing Life through Life. We are like the finger on the Hand of God, moved by God, in Harmony with every other part of the body of God (all the other Individual parts – recognised here as “other” people, animals, plants etc). We are Individual parts of the One thing, which is Life, or God.

On page 134 of “Home with God”, Neale summarizes this as follows:

“We are the individuation of the singularity experiencing life sequentially simultaneously”.

It is everyone “Purpose” to Re-Member this and to experience it. This is the Purpose of All of Life. You can choose HOW to do this in every moment. The result will be a raising of your own consciousness and the consciousness of Humanity as a whole. As the Finger on the Hand of God learns to express itself to its fullest, it brings Joy to the rest of the Body of God.

I wish you every success in feeling the Joy

I recommend that you read them.

One incite is that Death can be Exciting, just as Life can be – after all, they are the same thing. The phase of life after the body dies is not limited by the same physical restrictions that we face on Earth. What you believe can create your experience much quicker and easier. It is therefore important not to restrict your experience to the stories you have been told by other people. Don’t die thinking that you are certain what will happen to you. Ask for whatever good is possible to come to you, and allow all potential to be available.

If you are sure that “nothing” exists after death, that is what you will experience – nothing, like being asleep on earth. Things are still going on around you, but you are asleep to them. Many people are in this state on earth, even while they appear to be awake and moving around.

The drive of life is to be “conscious”, aware, energized, growing, moving, dynamic, interacting. You can not stay asleep forever. Sooner or later you will wake up, just as you do after a nights sleep. There are always other people around you, tending to your needs, waiting for you to return to awareness.

Once you understand that you are no longer in your physical body but still “alive”, you will begin to create new experiences for yourself. You can create anything that comes to mind. This will simply be yet another projected “reality” made up from your imagination, just like on Earth, but faster and without the physical restrictions and reactions. You can not suffer during this process, you are simply creating mental imagery, like in a dream. You may even experience the presence of God, but whether or not you believe it is up to you. Just as on Earth, God is there, but you may not recognise her. Here is a quote from the book:

“If you look into the eyes of another and know that God is there, you will see God there. Otherwise, you will see nothing more than another human being. You may even see a villain.”

Whatever you Desire, whatever you HOPE for, will be given to you.

On page 115 there is a “100 word formula for all of life”, that begins with Hope (get the book and take a look).

But what about the people that don’t have any “hope”. Those that live in fear, feel that they aren’t worthy, that they deserve to be judged and punished for something. How do these people manage on the other side of Life?

After death there is no pain or suffering. This is true even if you believe it is not. Even if you insist on creating an experience of burning in hell, you will not suffer. As soon as your Soul decides that the experience is not Desirable anymore, it will be gone. The Soul already understands that suffering is not desirable, so your Will to create suffering will not be allowed to produce it.

Once the Soul comes to realize that the body is no more and the thinking mind is no more, it will be released from preconceived restrictions created by the perspective of these physical conditions and naturally move to the next stage of awareness.

What is this next level of awareness and how long will it take before it happens?

You begin to merge with the essence at the core of your being and experience who you really are. When? All at the same time! In the non-physical experience, time does not exist in the way that we understand it. I have discussed TIME in earlier Parts, but we will look at it again as it relates to multi-dimensional realities and how we “live” in them “Sequentaneously” – sequentially and simultaneously (as “Home with God” explains it).

Life “After” Death is just like Life “Before” Death, but with no restrictions and no suffering. Wouldn’t that be a good experience to have? Is it true though? What do “You” think?

Don’t “think” too hard – you need to “feel” something.

John Eyre

<dc:subject>CwG - Home with God</dc:subject>

Home with God, Part 13

19 Apr 2008

Chapter 13 begins where we left off in Part 12:
“Objective observation is impossible. Nothing which is observed is unaffected by the observer.”

It talks about perspective, perception and belief and the outcomes that they lead to.

Applying this to our ideas of death, we may believe in “Life After Death”, but Life is all there is, and death has no effect on it. If we believe in the world of opposites, then Death is the opposite of Birth, not Life. Life and Death are not opposites. We are born into the physical world and we die back out of it. They are both parts of the same experience.

This leads to the Seventh Remembrance, page 89:
“Death does not exist.”

If you believe that death exists, you will experience that it does. This comes from your perception and from your perspective. But, it doesn’t make it so. It just makes you think it is so.

And, the Eighth Remembrance, page 91, is:
“You cannot change Ultimate Reality, but you can change your experience of it.”

The book as us to think of similar situations in our lives where we may have had very different reactions to them. For example, being out in the rain or snow, being at a party, loosing something valuable, a loved one dying, being alone. Was the experience perceived as happy or sad, positive or negative, depressing or joyous? What was the difference in the similar events? Was it simply an attitude or perception of that specific time and place? Can you be happy while walking in the rain? Can a loved one dying be a happy release or just a natural stage of life? You get to choose.

The point is that you can’t change the way that things have turned up right now, they are already the way they are, the event is now in the past. You can however, change the way you react to these events and situations. You can change your perspective at any time. What would make you do that? Are you even open to allowing that to happen?

As with all experience, what you believe about it, will determine how you perceive it, when it happens. What you expect death to be like will be your experience of it, even if that is not the “nature” of it. Only when you can see that the experience you are having is not the one you would choose, can that experience change.

Chapter 14 gets in to the question of what happens to us after we die.
“Hell does not exist. There simply is no such place.”

Everyone on earth lives on the same earth. We are surrounded by the same natural laws and the same kinds of resources. We have the same instincts and the same drives. We need the same things in order to survive. However, our personal experiences of life on earth are both wide and varied. We can experience a “Hell on Earth” or a “Heaven on Earth”. Although we don’t see exactly how this happens, at some level of our Self, we choose to experience things the way they turn up.

When we die, the first thing we come to “know” is that we are still “alive”, though not restrained by our body. After that, our existing perspective will continue to drive the experiences that we have and whatever we believe will happen, will happen. Without the limitations of the physical body, our imagination can create any kind of situation immediately. Even though there is no place called “Hell”, we can create the experience of being there and have that experience for as long as we choose.

Just as there was no place on Earth that you needed to “Go” in order to experience your living Hell, there is no such place after death. But, you can still think there is.

Why would “God” allow me to create an eternal hell for myself if he knows that there is no such place? How could he let us suffer in such a way?

God simply provides the mechanism and the power for you to experience whatever you “say” you want, in whatever way you “say” you want it. You choose. You don’t have to actually “say” what you want and how you want it. Your vibration attracts it to you. Whatever you vibrate is what you get more of. You can say one thing while vibrating another. You can “pretend” to be friendly, sympathetic, giving, honest, while you actually act the opposite. What you experience creates your vibration and what you vibrate creates your experience. It takes an act of Faith, Will, and Grace to change the way you behave (or react) and therefore the experience you have and then the vibration you feel, in order to break-out of conditioned thinking. It requires “Awakening”.

Even after death, you can still be “living” from your conditioned mind. The vibration is imprinted into every part of your being. It isn’t lost when your brain decays away. You take who you are wherever you go. It is the only thing that you keep. It is the only thing that is ultimately worth working on while you are alive.

Our task while on Earth is to understand Who We Really Are and to grow our Awareness of that essence.

Happy Growing.

There is no separation between you.”

Most Religions and Spiritual Teachings agree that whatever it is that they think “God” is, it is the All Powerful, All Seeing, Creator of Everything. There is Nothing that is Not God. That God created “Man” in his own “image”.

If God created everything and is everything there can be no “other”, no “out-there”, no separation between one thing and the next. Things only “appear” to be separate from our own limited perspective.

“God creates all of life, and you create all of your life”.

Without God, we do not have the power to live. Without life, God’s power is not made manifest. God is manifested through life itself. This is his Joy and our Joy.

“The presence of the wave is evidence of the existence of the ocean. Your presence is evidence of the existence of God”.

In the relatively short period of time that “man” has been creating “things” with his limited perspective, how has that creative faculty developed? Are we getting “better”? Are the things we create starting to look more like life itself? Are “we” creating things in our image (may be even our view of God)?

If you and God are one, then you and I are one, and you and your enemy are one.

If you and God are one, then there is nothing that you need, nothing that you are missing, nothing that you have to do, no where that you have to go and no one you have to please, not even God.

We are said to have Free Will, but many people don’t experience that they do. They feel that their lives are being dictated by other people or that the day-to-day struggle is what creates their experience. You can sit in a room on your own, and with nothing more than your thoughts, you can create the feeling of happiness or sadness, despair or joy, inside you. When you realise that you have this power within and that you can change your feeling by simply changing your thoughts and your perception of those thoughts, you are ready to take control of your life. What you believe, is all important. What you believe about yourself, can set your free.

Three people can be watching the same event. One thinks that he sees a Spiritual Master performing a miracle cure. The second thinks he sees a Master Magician performing a skilful trick and the third person thinks he sees a con-man taking advantage of the crowd. The event was always the same event, but the beliefs and perspectives of the three viewers create completely different ideas and feelings within them. Which view was correct? This is the thing that people have difficulty with. Whose view of the world is correct? If you and I can have different understandings of the same event, how can we agree on what the truth is?

We could film the event and take the film to a “judge” and ask her to decide for us. Having looked at the evidence and listened to the various positions, she may determine that it was a magic show, but it was being done for the benefit of the “believers” and therefore it was not something to be “punished”. How would this “judgement” affect our first three observers. May be it would just upset all of them and now we simply have a fourth view of the same event. No truth was determined by this “judgement”, it was simply another perspective added to the list of possible explanations.

What I believe, is what I will see, even if I am as “open-minded” and “impartial” as a judge.

Therefore, there are two possible ways to view the world we live in and the way people interact with it. Either, everything is True or everything is un-True. “What’s that?”, I hear you say, “can’t everything just be mostly true, or true as far as we can understand, or true from the perspective of the person performing the act, or a mixture of true and un-true”?

If you believe in the true/un-true story, you will be continually looking out-there for the “Real Truth”. The version that isn’t tainted by the observer, and there isn’t such a thing. Everything is changed by the observer.

There is an “Ultimate Truth”, but it consists of the addition of everyone’s perception of every event. You can not even understand one other person’s perception of even one event, not even if you are identical twins, so trying to look at an idea or event, to determine the truth that everyone will understand and accept equally, is futile. This is why you should not judge another person or any situation that turns up in your experience. Judging is the attempt to impose your perception on to other people and this can not work (at least not for long). Everyone acts out their lives based on who they believe they are and for most people, this was “given” to them by their parents, their teachers and their culture.

Only when we “choose” to recognise that we are living unconsciously, living our lives automatically, based on our conditioning, can we begin to awaken. This is our choice.

Everyone is doing the best they can with what they were given. Anti-social and un-conscious behaviour requires our understanding and compassion, not our judgement.

To get back to the theme in the book. You and God are one. Decisions made by you are also decisions made by God, and vice-versa. At some level of your own being, you choose everything in your life, including your death (which is only a change in state, not an ending of life). This is The Absolute Truth, at least from my Perspective. It may not be from yours, and that’s OK. It doesn’t make either of us wrong and shouldn’t cause either of us any conflict. However, if you find that it does, you should look into who you are and ask why that feeling is arising in you – there will be a reason.

Be Happy, All Ways

Given that Dr Darcy raised the issue of “Suicide” and the fact that the next chapter in Home with God (Chapter 10) also addresses the topic, let us take a look at what it says:

“Causing something and consciously Choosing it, can be two entirely different things.”

“You can be the Cause of an accident, but that does not mean that you consciously Choose it.”

We are all “at cause” in everything that we do and experience in our lives, including the time and manner of our death. For the majority of people, they are not consciously aware of this fact and so do not “experience” it to be true. Their perspective and therefore perception does not include that possibility. This does not mean that it is not true, but it does mean that they would not believe it.

For Suicide to be completed, the person must first be aware of what they are doing and making a conscious choice to do it. They must also be doing it for the purpose of “escape”. They believe that they can remove themselves from a situation that is causing them stress or discomfort and that death will lead to a release or even a more positive outcome.

Death is Not an Escape. Death is a doorway, a tool, a transforming event, an opportunity, but it does not provide a way for you to avoid looking at who you are. On the contrary, you will know again, who you really are and wish to return to physical form to experience that essence, to bring the consciousness of God through you into the world.

Having committed suicide, you will not be judged or punished but will naturally return to the physical world to relive the life you just removed yourself from, but from the beginning. As in “Life” you can not push yourself away from a situation that you do not like. The act of pushing creates resistance that is equal to any force that you can muster. Fighting against something does not make it go away. Even if it appears to subside for a while, that thing will return with power. This is something that humanity has not learned yet, but it is beginning to understand.

There will be no change in Who You Are, once you step through the door of death. Life and Death are the same thing. In death, you will continue to “Be” who you are. The realm of the physical is a manifestation of consciousness created in order to experience itself. We are moving towards a “time” when more people will become Aware of their own consciousness and create Space between their ego mind and their thoughts. Be quiet, and know that I AM there.

Suicide is not good or bad, wrong or right. You will not gain or loose by it. You will be loved through the event as you are through every choice you make and hardship that you face. The thing to remember is, nothing is more important than Life, no one is more important than you, no problem is insurmountable, nothing matters enough to be concerned about, everything is OK, let it go, LET IT BE.

In the last couple of texts, we have talked about the idea that our Soul might have a “mission” or goal or plan and that when that mission is fulfilled, which it always will be, the Soul is ready to “force” the body to expire.

In short, the idea is that at some level, we choose when and how to die and that it is always after our work is complete.

A few people may be aware of their mission and even be happy and ready to die at the appropriate time. But, our experience is that the vast majority of people are not consciously aware of any specific mission or task that they need to accomplish. Neither are they aware that the task may have been completed and they can now pass away content in their understanding of this. And, why would you want to pass away, even if your mission was completed? There’s plenty more that could be accomplished.

The suggested reasoning for this is that we have three levels of Consciousness and we create everything in our lives at one level or another. The three levels are well known, as every one will have heard of their consciousness and their Subconscious (that drives the things that go on underneath the surface, the automatic processes that make our bodies work and allow us to react quickly to events without thinking). That’s two, and the third is also well known, at least by name if not by experience. We have the idea of a “higher” consciousness or Superconscious. We think that there is probably some part of us that is “nearer” to God or has a greater wisdom or is closely aligned with our Soul. This is where inspiration and spontaneous creative insight come from – you wake up in the night with a poem, a story or song in your mind, for example.

We think that we create at our conscious level. You know, we sit down and think of something then write it down or draw it or make it, all while we are wide awake. We conceive an idea in our mind then plan how to make it come to life.

What about our subconscious mind? Does that create anything? It certainly performs hundred or thousands of functions. It keeps our heart beating, our lungs breathing our cells dividing and every movement we make is accomplished by our subconscious mind. It would simply be unimaginable to consciously think the functions required to make your hand and all the associated muscles work together to raise a glass of water to drink. As a baby, you might have gone through a long process to master these bodily functions, but once mastered, they become automatic, like driving a car or riding a bike.

How about the Superconscious then? Is that creating anything? May be you don’t even believe that there is a superconscious. However, this is the faculty that has access to all knowledge. It is your link to God, or whatever you recognise as the Universal Source. It knows everything, but like God, has no agenda. It needs nothing and only responds when asked. If you never communicate with it, it won’t be upset, but you will be missing out on the one true source of all knowledge. Not only knowledge, but energy. It is through the superconscious that energy flows, through you, to earth. You only need to ask it, then it will Inspire, Encourage, Drive and Energize your creative mind. Through dreams, by bringing people or situations to you, by playing just the right music at the right time, by showing you a situation, these are the ways that your superconscious can put you where you say you want to be.

There is a fourth level that “Home with God” talks about and that is the Supraconscious or Christ Conscious. This is when all three cylinders are firing together. When all your conscious levels of being are working together in harmony, you can move mountains.

Where does this leave us, where is the creation taking place?

The suggestion is that creation can take place at all four levels. Creation is said to follow the sequence – Think, Speak, Do (Thought, Word, Deed). It might sound like you can only do these three things at the conscious level. They are all physical things that need you to be engaged and active in order to accomplish them. If this were true, you would have to be aware of everything that you created in your life. Do you think that you might have created something without being consciously aware of it? Is that possible?

This raises the question, what is creation? What can I create? It’s pretty obvious that I can “make” things – a chair, a pie, a piece of art, a song, a joke, someone cry – wait a moment, I can “make” someone cry? Can you make someone laugh or be happy? What about angry or sad or fearful? Would I always be fully aware that I did any of these things? Could they happen at “arms-length” without me even being present. If someone looks at a photograph of me and smiles, is that something that I am creating, and at what level?

Do I know where this discussion is going? I don’t. I don’t have the end in mind. I haven’t thought it all the way through, before I started writing it. I trust that somewhere inside me, or at a distance that I can reach, there is a thread of wisdom that I can pull on.

We can make someone else laugh or be happy. How would we do that? They have to agree to it. They join in. They take their role in the process. They are willing participants. You Choose to be Happy, or otherwise. In every moment, you decide whether or not any particular event is going to be experienced as a happy or sad situation. Irrespective of the outward circumstances, you can choose to always be happy. You can laugh at your own misfortunes.

If this is the case, then no one else can make you feel any particular way, against your will. So, you decide how you will feel in any situation. You pick your reactions and responses. What about the actual situations themselves? How do you find yourself in “good” or “bad” situations? Do you have a hand in creating these as well?

If a women keeps “choosing” to associate with the same negative and aggressive men, even though they treat her badly, then she is probably creating that kind of environment for herself. This can easily be recognised, if not overcome.

However, to take a more extreme case. What if you are killed by “friendly” fire while driving your tank through a war zone. Or you are sitting at home and a bomb drops on your house. Or you are driving down the highway and a truck coming the other way crosses the centre line and runs in to you. And the list goes on. You have to be able to trace a complex web of interconnecting branches to be able to see how these things might have been influenced by your own Self for your own Good. When you can see that We Are All One, this starts to be possible. But, I understand that most people are not going to look to themselves for a reason or cause under these kinds of circumstances.

Even more interesting and complex situations occur when something like a plane crashes and all but one person dies, or someone decides not to get on the fatal plane, or a person is delayed by the accident on the highway and misses the fatal plane. You can accept all these things as pure chance, it’s just “one of those things”, inexplicable, these people were just “lucky”. However, while I don’t necessarily think that everything happens for a “Purpose”, everything does happen for a “Reason”. Purpose implies that there is a plan, a reason only requires a “cause” and everything has a cause. Even New thoughts, which happen rarely, are only possible because of the millions of previous old thoughts that have been practiced in a particular order by a particular mind. New Life Evolution occurs when an Environment changes significantly. It never just happens for no reason.

If you can’t accept that you are at cause in all that comes to you, lets look at an example that will allow you to accept that if You Don’t Choose, Someone Else Will –

You need a job. You aren’t very creative and you don’t like taking responsibility, so you ask a friend that works in a factory, if they can get you an interview there. You are successful in the interview but the job is on the production line and you haven’t done that before. You spend the first week learning the tasks. This is quite complicated and you make many errors before managing the task adequately. You are still very slow and don’t produce the required level of output, but you expect that with practice you will.

This is a very typical situation. You have reduced any choice of work environment to the easiest option, the one that your friend has. You accept whatever the employer has to offer you, even though you know you don’t have the skills yet. You have to train your subconscious to be able to carry out the tasks without your conscious input (otherwise things go wrong, you slow down and don’t earn enough). You hate the job and after 3 weeks you have an accident with one of the machines. You sue the company.

Who caused your accident? Why were you unhappy? Did your Soul find you the job? Was it the job of your “dreams”? Was it your “destiny” or your “mission” to work there and eventually have the accident? The accident may well prove to move you forward to great things and when you look back you may say it all happened “as it was meant to”, but was there a “purpose” and a plan and did you follow it?

One way to expand your potential is to learn to lower your conscious mind to be able to communicate with your subconscious and become aware of the power available in automating what you want and not what you don't want. Another path is to raise your consciousness to connect with the superconscious that is the source of inspiration, where miracles arise. A better strategy is to expand your consciousness to touch both upper and lower levels of consciousness at the same time, creating a "oneness" within, which then helps you see the Oneness outside.

To summarize with a quote from the book – p58:

“Therefore, think only what you choose to experience, say only what you choose to make real, and use your mind to consciously instruct your body to do only what you choose to demonstrate as your highest reality. This is how you create at the conscious level.”

Group of 1000 members come from all walks of life, their backgrounds rich and varied, their education diversely beautiful and their colours of skin amalgamated within the harmony of oneness. There is a rich silky softness present whenever members of the Group gather, as if a sheet of pure brilliance enfolds them, bringing them and their purpose closer to the ground they travel through.

It was a beautiful Saturday in January 2008 when part of the Group gathered, the sometimes harsh British winds were somewhat silenced, the sky gave its best blue colour and the sun skipped through clouds to bless us with the joy it brings. Members travelled in to London from hundreds of miles away, their dedication and commitment to being with G1K warming the hearts of those who live closer. The air carried anticipation for everyone present. This was our first Group gathering outside of the wonderful G1K conferences held with Neale. This was the first opportunity for G1K members based in the UK to meet other UK members. This lunch signified the beginning of many singular but related events involving the Group of 1000, across the world for years to come.

As the clock struck twelve, members started to pour through the door, each person bringing their own light into the room. Each felt the presence of “beingness” held in the room, and there was a gentle willingness to openly smile and look into another person’s eyes without hesitation. There was an unspoken comfort at being in a room where any feelings, thoughts or views on “Spirituality” could be voiced and accepted without ridicule or mock. And for me personally there was wonderful personal fulfilment at witnessing the values of G1K alive and beautiful in the room, values and actions we sometimes shy away from fully expressing in the material world such as love and its togetherness, unity and its compassion, comradeship and its oneness.

There were moments during that lunch, I looked around me and wondered what it really signified for me. As I completed my speech my last few words (“…The Universe is our playground where we can create change, and see the changes, we wish to experience in our lifetime…”) brought a new level of everlasting truth home, and as I looked around at my wonderful UK members I did not see genders, or skin colours, I did not see differences, all I saw were Leaders, and all I felt was the presence of Leadership.

I (personally) believe very deeply in a concept called “Servant Leadership”. My definition of this is where individuals lovingly stand as Leaders with purpose and vision, as opposed to status and fame. Where Leaders develop by “being” as opposed to “doing”, and where the excellence and presence of a Group lies within individual strengths such as courage, self-discovery, inward reflection, vision and inspiration, to name a few. And it is for those reasons, as I looked around the room that sunny day in London all I saw were Leaders. Members who were committed to a cause larger than themselves and experienced themselves, their wholeness through that cause. Members who feel that fundamentally the world is connected and that unity is key to raising awareness of that connection. Leaders who know that long lasting deeply impacting change takes time to manifest in the world, but one by one hand by hand soul by soul the vision we are part of IS manifesting at this very moment and is surely coming to be.

<dc:subject>Member Meetings</dc:subject>

Home with God, Part 9

“You’re afraid to die, and you’re afraid to live.
What a way to exist.”

Remembrance 5 (page 42)
“Death is never a tragedy. It is always a gift”

We’ve talked before about death being a “gift”, and I’m sure that many people will not believe this, even if they mentally accept such an idea. In Part 1 on the Blog, I wrote about death and our ideas about it.

“Home with God” focuses quite a lot on death and what happens afterwards. The reason is because so many people don’t really think about death very much. In western societies it is kept “hidden” and not talked about, except in movies and cartoons, where it is turned into something un-real, like a video game. Most people rarely, if ever, see a real dead body. Children are kept away from funerals and we don’t leave dead relatives in the front room any more.

Our culture makes a big thing about doing all we can to avoid the coming day. Even worse, it creates thousands of products to sell us to slow down or stop the aging process – no, actually reverse the aging process. They want to tell us that we don’t have to die and medical science will soon have a “cure” for it. Well, may be we don’t have to die and it’s quite likely that within our Body, Mind and Soul, we have the ability to continually regenerate a new, all of our cells, organs and other systems. May be we should take some time to consider what “dying” really is, and what difference a better understanding of death might make to how we live our lives.

Living in fear of death causes us to distort our natural way of living. How we think about death leads us to react to it in a certain way. It can also lead others, who hear about the death, to react a certain way. If we treat our own pending death as something dreadful, something being forced upon us by some outside “entity”, or “bad luck” or “punishment”, coming much earlier than one would have liked or expected, we might get angry and agitated and start to blame people for our situation. People around us would see and feel our frustration and then have their own trauma to deal with.

If we accepted our situation as just part of the natural unfolding of life, presenting us with situations to experience and grow from, all created and brought to us by our own higher self, we could be at peace with this situation and this would also be felt by those around us, allowing them to cope with their own pending loss in a more positive way.

In Chapter 8, Neale reprints a message, from a friend, that illustrates this point very well.

For death to be seen as a gift, we need to have a special way of looking at both life and death. We need to expand our view of who we are and our relationship to everything else. You could say that taking this strange view of death is just deluding ourselves. We are just looking for a “more comfortable” story. Religions tell us that we might be judged and damned for all eternity. Biologists tell us that we just decay into our base elements, back to the earth. Suicide bombers believe they will be provided with great rewards. What we believe about a topic, determines how we see that topic and therefore how we experience it. For most of us, what we believe about almost everything, has been given to us by someone else. We have been conditioned by our society, whichever society that happens to be.

And so, as we have said many times, don’t believe anything that anyone else tells you, including this author, and especially not your Politicians, Religious leaders, Doctors, Scientists, Police, the Army, any Corporation, the Media and anyone that is trying to “sell” you something.

What kind of life would we lead if we didn’t believe any of these groups of people? If we live as though everyone was lying to us or distorting the truth, or at least trying to persuade us that their idea is the right idea. Wouldn’t it be terrible to live like that?

If I had my political hat on, I might answer that the world would be a much better place if we didn’t let our “leaders” get away with blatantly lying to us about just about everything. However, this is a spiritual blog and I’m not saying that we should not listen to and pay attention to what other people are saying and doing. On the contrary. Everyone has part of the “truth” and the part that they present to you is coming your way for a reason, you attracted it. They will make it sound “logical”, otherwise no-one would believe them, but how does it “feel”. Don’t accept it as your truth unless it feels right in your heart. Not in your head – don’t forget, your mind was conditioned by the same people, so if you use your mind as the measure of truth, you are more likely to just accept what is presented to you.

So, everyone has their part of the truth and if you want to understand the widest version of the truth that you can, you better consider as many of these “other” positions as possible. The ultimate truth has to explain all the strange ideas that people have come up with over the centuries. Do you think that your model of the world does that? With an infinite number of “stories” overflowing with complexity, dead-ends, errors and oppression, the real truth has to be so simple. The laws of the universe are simple. The lowest levels of functionality and processes lead to extremely complex outcomes. There doesn’t need to be complex principals to create complex outcomes.

If you consider the number of complex functions you can carry out on your computer, you would believe that a computer would be unbelievably complicated. Actually, at its base level, it is extremely simple. It uses just a few small switches (may be 16 or 64), that can be either on or off and a small circuit that can add two of these together (mathematically or logically) and a shift-circuit that can move the sequence left or right. With just these few simple items we can create a virtual world inside your computer. You can play realistic games using characters with all the attributes of real people.

The marvel is that we can make the switches and circuits so small that we can store millions of words on a chip the size of your thumb nail and can turn the switches on and off millions of times each second. Having millions of these tiny systems and allowing them to become specialized and work together, supports the vast array of behaviors presented by even simple computers.

This is exactly the same as “life”, where undifferentiated stems cells decide to become specialized and continue to communicate with those other cells around them. Our bodies are not one body. They are not even a single coherent organism. The cells are not even connected together. We are a mass of swirling elements held together by electromagnetic and gravitational forces (and spiritual energy). Something is keeping them in place, holding them together in a way that creates the illusion of a body, a recognizable person, a changing individual. If all the cells in our bodies are replaced about every 7 years, where are “we”? When we “die”, those elements simply decide to move away and become part of some other experience.

All physical things are made up of the same “stuff”. There is no real difference between a star, an ocean and a person. There is nothing that exists that is not alive. Life is the basic process of existence in the physical. The smallest element that we can obverse still contains infinity within it. These elements all have a spark of consciousness and an infinite source of creative power. As they combine together in ever increasing complexity, the more complex becomes the consciousness of the resulting being. Even rocks are conscious and have a “life-cycle”.

Which came first, the complex organism or the complex consciousness?
Were we created or did we evolve? This has always seemed a strange question to me and I never understood that there should be an argument about “which” is true and which should be taught in schools. There are clearly both forces at work all the time. Nothing comes into existence unless it is created. Nothing becomes complex without evolving from something less complex. You won’t create any new thoughts without thinking a whole bunch of old ones firsts.

The modern flat-panel LCD television isn’t the first ever design of a television or the first use of LCD panels. Everything that “man” creates uses a long history of evolution and certainly couldn’t come into existence without creative power, based in thought. Thought creates everything. Consciousness is where thoughts reside and the physical manifestation of consciousness is our universe.

Take care of your thoughts – they are real things and contain creative power. Everyone gets to have “access” to them, just like radio waves can be picked up by anyone with a radio receiver.

P.S. You might want to consider whether or not your computer is “alive”.

John.

<dc:subject>CwG - Home with God</dc:subject>

Home with God, Part 8

Further discussion on journeys and pathways – what is our Mission?

Remember these:
3. We didn’t just “arrive” without a reason. There must be something we are supposed to do. Otherwise, why would we be here?

What’s the difference between someone who “knows” what their mission in life is and those that don’t or simply don’t care or think there isn’t a mission. Are the people that don’t have a mission, any less aware of who they are. Can we say that if you don’t know why your soul brought you here, you can’t possibly be living the life you were suppose to live. If you continually fight against what life brings you, are you fulfilling your souls plan? Is it possible to die while you are still fighting against your soul’s direction? I think that people die all the time, having no idea of a purpose, a mission a goal, a state to achieve. If you have no “conscious” clue of what is going on with your life, can you be “learning” or growing or experiencing or feeling a desired processed?

When we look at how the majority of people live their lives, we see very repetitive cycles of work, shop, sleep, work, shop, sleep … Everyone taking the same wide, straight, well-trodden path, together. If there is a path to take, surely this would be the “easiest” of all.

Some people break this cycle on an annual basis with a holiday that they actively plan and think about. Some people break the cycle at weekends and take a break or do a sport or read of book or go fishing. Some people break the cycle every evening by having a wide variety of interests and pastimes to occupy their minds and bodies. How many of all these people are spending time considering what their soul wants?

How can our soul “want” anything?

If our soul has a plan to accomplish something while we are here and a finite time available to do that (0 to 110 years), and we are not consciously working with our soul to make that happen, what are the chances that everyone, every-time, manages to achieve that goal, before they die?

Could it be possible that a souls “plan” for its next incarnation into physicality might be so limited that it might become ecstatic with Joy if it could simply make one conscious connection, one glimmer of awareness that the now divided parts of “self” are really one? If it could just get you to read that one book, recognize that one “coincidence”, think about the death of a friend in a new way, would this be enough of a step forward to be a souls goal for a whole life-time?

Let’s assume that a soul longs to experience the unquestioning love of another human being. Two souls work together and manage to direct their “unconscious” bodies to come together and they “recognize” each other. They are blissfully happy. How long should this go on for, before the souls can say they have accomplished their goal and don’t need to “stick-around” any longer? If they had their goal experienced early, they woke-up quicker than expected, wouldn’t that be a great opportunity to just continue the process and to see just how far this new found awakening could go, continuing to grow with every last breath. Not tied to any particular outcome and not requiring any particular experience. The soul would grow its awareness in whatever direction happened to present itself.

This seems to me to be a logical position. So, how does that fit with the “Home with God” view that
“Each passage is ended when the agenda or the mission of that particular passage has been completed.” (page 32).

When we set a goal and then work hard to accomplish it, we generally just set another one straight after (may be we take a bit of a break in between). If the soul came to earth with just a single goal and “had” to achieve it, that would be setting things up rather unnaturally. It is more likely that for most of us the goal would be a whole bunch of smaller potential goals that we would be happy to meet some of during the time available – let the chips fall where they may and pull off some of the experiences and grow the awareness in whatever environment that shows up.

For a person that is very well in-tune with their connection to their soul and the “source” they may well have a specific mission. May be it was to bring a greater understanding to humanity of who they are. This sounds like a mission that could go on forever. That body isn’t going to be able to cling on to life indefinitely, so when the body is tiring and failing to function, the soul and in this person, the mind, will accept that they have done their work. They understand that death is not the end. That there is more growth to come. That within the boundaries that existed, they have achieved all they could. They would be content that they were complete, even though, from the outside, it might look like there was still much more to do.

If this was a young person, occupying a body with a disease, they may show great strength of will and overcome the disease and show the world how it is possible to accomplish great things that may even appear to be scientifically impossible. After such a process, the soul may well think that it had “done enough” in this cycle to allow this body to pass back to the elements and die.

So, what about the “average” soul. The type that represents the majority, the norm or the mean. The one that isn’t really conscious of anything to do with its divinity. The one that is struggling just to get through life the best way it can. Is that a valid “mission” for a soul, to just get through the best you can? How long do you have to do that for, 10 years, 20 years, 90 years, or may be until you say “I’ve had enough”? What if you never actually say that, not even to yourself. I can see that most people would never get to the point of “understanding” who they are. Not even the ones that are Religious and have been raised to accept God and not fear death. They have an easier life because they have handed over control to a “higher” source. But is it part of their mission or is it part of their earthly conditioning, or may be both?

I think that there is a problem here. When we say that souls come with a mission or a plan, that they choose the best location for that plan to grow, the parents they need, the culture that best fits, the skills that they will need, all is well with this, sometimes. But, what about when it’s not.

It’s like saying to a beggar on the street “why did you choose to live like this?”, or to someone in a village in Afghanistan “why did you put yourself in this burning house?” The “viewer” could say that the beggar is a result of “our” life choices and that they will continue to be there as long as we, the big group, allow them to. That their soul is providing a “service” for the rest of us. It’s us that need to learn something from it. And, this is undoubtedly true, at some level. But are all beggars enlightened souls “choosing” to provide us this mirror of a service. I think not. I think that may be the majority of them are very ordinary people that have been pushed and kicked by society until they end up where they are.

Everyone’s ideas about life are true. Each individual perspective creates the corresponding perception. The explanation that we mentally create to explain what is happening has to allow for ALL possible perceptions. All outcomes have to be valid. If we say that we “choose” our life experience or that we come with a mission, then there has to be a way for that to happen for less self-realized souls, not just for the one that is well connected. What is the process that creates both understandings?

The Process is the same, even if the perceived results are different. The Geometry of the universe is constant, even though it creates an infinity of possible outcomes in all directions. God is infinite and never changing. God is the law and process that governs the way things change, continually.

Given the infinity of time and space, all potential will be realized. Given a limited cycle of life, it is not required that any potential be realized. We are familiar with the idea of everyone being born with the potential to achieve great things. May be they are not born equal exactly, but there are enough amazing stories to show that given a level of will and a strong mission or goal, even people born in poverty and desperation can create miracle lives.

Are these “special” souls or do they have something physically different to other people. Hormones or genes or some other quirk of birth may give them the edge. They are often recognised as being different from their brothers and sisters from an early age.

Could their soul have created a body that had that special something, even though they often have physical or mental disabilities as well. It wouldn’t be much of a lesson to the other people in a village if you had to be a highly evolved soul in order to get out of the village and create a bigger life, at least not from a single-life-time point of view. But in a multi-life-time point of view, having “special” souls turn up in un-special places would create a very motivating force, as with the story of Jesus, for example.

If you have read “What God Wants” by Neale Donald Walsch, you will know that God neither wants nor needs anything. God is the totality of all things and lacks nothing. In the same way, our soul is an “individuation” of God, a part of God, an expression of God, and therefore doesn’t need anything either. It doesn’t need a mission and it doesn’t need to complete a mission to feel fulfilled.

So, is there some other part of us that might like to have a mission? Well, our ego might well like to have a mission. As I inferred at the beginning, we like to feel that we have some “use”, that we are “useful”, that we have a purpose, a reason to be here. We don’t like the idea that we might just be a random manifestation of life.

But, isn’t the ego a function of our physical experience, something that will disappear when we die? Is it part of our mind, part of our mental processing? If it is, what else might like to have a purpose, no matter how tiny?

What about our consciousness? Is this part of our eternal self or is it a generated aspect of our physical being?

Home with God contains the following statements:

“you can die gracefully and gratefully, knowing consciously that you are complete”.
And,
“you can not die against your will”.

What is it that moves through physical life as “me” and then moves through spiritual life as “me” and then back again to the physical. If my soul is always complete and a “chip off the old block” – God, what it that is “evolving” and how does it keep track of where it is and how does it “choose” where to be next? Is it thinking and what is it thinking with? Can it make plans and who does it plan with? Do they all sit round in a group and who is in and who is out of the group, and who decides?

Does it matter if you don’t know the answers to these questions?
Is this why most people never even think about these kinds of issues – you know you can’t prove any of it and most people “get-by” just fine, without?

Are you expecting an answer here?

Be Grateful, be Happy.
John

<dc:subject>CwG - Home with God</dc:subject>

Home with God. It also points out that there is no real journey needed, as the destination we seek is right within us. It was there all the time. We take our journey in order to remind ourselves that we are the divinity we seek.

“Absolute Awareness – knowing, experiencing and feeling, completely, Who We Really Are. This is arrived at in steps, each passage through a lifetime can be considered one of those steps.”

On a smaller scale, each passage through a day or through an event can also add to our growing awareness. Each experience that “turns-up” is a gift to allow us to experience another part of who we are. Even so-called “bad” events are gifts. Even “death” is a gift!

Once you understand that difficult events can bring the greatest growth in awareness, it becomes easier to accept whatever comes your way. The external event has no real meaning, it is your reaction to the event that expresses who you are and your understanding of the bigger picture.

The biggest event facing all of us is our impending death. Once we can accept our own death as just a step along our soul’s journey of self-expression, as another mile-stone in our eternal recreation, we can start to live life more fully, without fear or limitation.

“Home with God” says “You are always immersed in the Divine. You are immersed in it right now. You are Divinity, immersed in Divinity, experiencing Itself as the Individuated Aspect of Divinity known as You”.

Where I live in Vancouver, BC, there is a ski hill and summer resort called Grouse Mountain, just a 20 minute bus ride away. There is a beautiful lodge on top of the mountain with restaurant and amazing views. There are a number of routes you can take to get you to the lodge. For most people, the gondola is the ideal, fast efficient, easy. But you can walk up through the forest on what is quite an arduous climb, called the Grouse Grind. Some people can run up the grind in about half an hour, but for most fit people it takes a couple of hours or more.

What is the point of this little diversion? Well I wanted to continue the discussion about pathways and journeys.

If a person visiting Vancouver felt that his destiny lay at the lodge on the top of the mountain and he was “driven” to experience all that the lodge has to offer, he may be so driven that he looks for the quickest way or the easiest way to get there. After discussing the options with a few guides, he decides to take the gondola, it being the fastest and most straightforward, though it comes at a price.

The gondola is always busy and full of tourists and local visitors. He follows the crowd and boards the ride. On board a guide explains what can be seen out off the wrap-around windows, what to expect to see at the top and some facts and figures about heights and visitors etc. Our traveler is a little bemused as he seems to be the only person on the ride and can’t see anything through the windows. He doesn’t say anything and when he gets off at the top, follows the signs to the lodge, which is just a few steps from the gondola.

Once inside the nearest building, he looks around and can’t see anything significant. There are no shops, no café, no bar and no view outside. Surely he should be able to see for miles across the valley, but it’s just cloudy. He decides to go outside to see if there is a better lodge, you know, the real one. This must be an older version.

After walking around for a while and getting nowhere, he ends up back at the original lodge. It looks just the same. It’s like he’s walked into a photographer’s dark room. Outside it was clear and light, but with nothing interesting to look at. Inside it is dark and cloudy, even though he has the feeling that there should be interesting things inside here. That’s what other people told him.

Outside again, he asks someone, “what’s going on inside the lodge. I thought that it was supposed to have a beautiful view and café and shops. I don’t see any of those things.”

The stranger said, “yes, it is exactly as you describe it. I have been there many times, including just a few minutes ago.” He offers to take the traveler inside, to make sure he gets to the correct place.

Together, they stand at the window, looking out. The traveler says “you see”.
“Yes! Awesome, isn’t it? Fantastic views and clear blue ski”
“No! It’s cloudy and I can’t see anything.” He storms out and takes the gondola back down the mountain.

When he gets back to town, he explains his experience to a friend. The friend suggests that, next time, he might like to take a different route to the top. He should try “The Grind”. That doesn’t sound like the ideal way to the top. Our traveler is in a hurry and wants to just see the view and experience the awe and get on to his next destination. His friend insists and offers to go with him.

The next day, they both head for the trail, together. After about an hour of heavy going, they reach a sign that says “Half Way”. Our traveler would have given up before now if he didn’t have his friend with him. Not really because of any help and support, but more to do with ego and not wanting to look weak. He hadn’t come very well prepared and had to borrow water from a passing hill-runner.

In amongst the trees, it’s not easy to see what the weather is like and there are no views. All you can see is the short stretch of vertical, winding trail in front of you. “What is the point in taking this way up? It’s stupid”.

They persevere, and at about 2 and a quarter hours they emerge right next to the lodge. The sky is clear as they enter the lodge, but right away, our traveler is not happy. Everything looks just like it did the last time he was here. His friend tells him to sit down in front of the window and look out. “Why? It’s just cloudy and gray.”

“Just do it!” They both settle down and relax after their hard climb. As the traveler starts to calm down, he notices small holes appearing in the cloud. The occasional beam of sun light shining through. As each new hole appears, he gets exited and anticipates more. As he focuses on a particular place, that area starts to clear. Soon, he can see glimpses of trees, then mountains to the right. Now, as he looks down, over the edge, he starts to recognize the city in the distance. Pretty soon, the sky is clear and blue and the valley looks amazing. Dare he take his eyes off the windows to look around the lodge? Yes, as he scans around the room, he notices all kinds of facility, even greater than the descriptions he had read and heard about. Now he slumps back into his seat and relaxes more. Knowing that the view is indeed there and probably was there all the time, he starts to wonder about why he couldn’t see it.

He turns to ask his friend, but he isn’t there.

He wants to stay here, but after some time he realizes he has to get back. He walks outside and sees his friend there. They take the gondola down the side of the mountain and talk about the experience. The traveler asks “why did I have to take the difficult route to the top in order to see the views? What is it about that route that allowed the view to clear? Why couldn’t it have happened when I took the easy gondola ride, with everyone else?”

His friend answered “It wasn’t the climb that cleared the clouds. You could have taken the gondola and still seen the view. But you didn’t believe that you could. You weren’t ready to accept that there was even a view to be seen, even though many people had told you of it. You could have taken the helicopter or driven up on the mountain track. You could even have stayed at home and still experienced the lodge.”

Now that you have climbed the mountain once, the next time will be much easier.

You don’t need to take the arduous path. You don’t need to take the easy path. You don’t need to take the shortest path. You don’t even need to take any journey. The only reason to travel a path at all, is for you to remind yourself who you are and what your relationship is to everything else. Each path leads you to the same place. They all have interesting things to teach you. Nothing will be wasted.

Once you accept that no journey is needed, you can then relax and enjoy your travels.
Ask your inner self for guidance. Ask for help. Tell your soul what you feel you would like to experience. Listen and watch for a reply, from wherever it might come. Your soul knows how to bring you what you need. If you work in harmony with your soul, you will make y
